The Black T-Shirt Dilemma
Aakaar Grooming Co. wasn't born out of a desire to start a business; it was born out of sheer frustration. The catalyst was simple: harsh climates and hard water were destroying my skin and facial hair.
A morning routine shouldn't be a liability. Yet, I found myself battling an intensely itchy beard, hair that felt rough like sandpaper, and the ultimate frustration: beardruff constantly snowing onto my black t-shirts. You shouldn't have to walk out the door every day looking unkempt. I needed a fix, fast.
The Anti-Lumberjack Era
When I turned to the men’s grooming aisle for a solution, what I found was a joke.
The entire grooming industry is obsessed with a manufactured, hyper-masculine fantasy. They push thick, cheap, heavy oils designed for massive, untamed lumberjack beards. When I tried them, the results were disastrous.
My face felt like a grease trap. The heavy oils clogged my pores, caused severe breakouts underneath my beard, and left my hands slick every time I touched my chin. I keep a short beard, and I like it that way. It looks well kept and professional. However, I don't want to look, feel, or smell like I just chopped down a tree.
